It had taken a couple of days to make the cross the Caspian Sea from Azerbaijan. When I docked (many hours later) I would finally step foot in the first of the many ‘Stans on my journey overland to India. Kazakhstan is the largest by far but I wouldn’t be seeing much of it. I planned to head due East and across the border to Uzbekistan as soon as I could catch a train going that way.
