Upon my return to Turkey, my first stop was the attractive town of Safranbolu 200km North of Ankara. The old town is a postcard scene of cobblestone streets and Ottoman-era wooden homes. A 17th Century hamam beckons from the town square and restored mansions invite the scarce visitors in for a peak at the way things were.
