All my life I’ve wanted to see the Parthenon. It is, for me, the archetype of antiquities. Even if the best bits have been carted off to the British Museum and half the remaining structure covered with scaffolding nothing could dull the thrill of finally seeing this wondrous structure with my own eyes.
