The little train takes just about an hour to chug it’s way along the single-line narrow-gauge track from Dhiakoftó to Kalávryta just 22 km away. The journey is popular with tourists for it’s scenic route through the Vouraïkós gorge over pretty bridges, through thrilling tunnels and around curves that seem to hang the track in mid-air over the gushing water below. It was a fun trip and a welcome distraction from antiquities for a day or two.
