As a child, Turkish Delight was the quintessence of exotic treats. The real thing is every bit as good as my childhood imagination and never in my sweetest fantasies could I have conjured up the varieties of “Lokum” found in Istanbul’s bazaars — pistachio, hazelnut, lemon, mint, apricot, pomegranate, and fig. My teeth are rotting just thinking about it.
