I’m sure Bucharest is a lovely place but I didn’t give it much of a chance. In the end I stayed for less than 24 hours before moving on towards Bulgaria. The ‘sights’ didn’t appear to warrant a longer stay so I contented myself with an evening stroll downtown where I chanced upon a sparsely attended outdoor concert. If I ever find myself in Romania again I’ll give the capital a second chance but after Munich, Vienna and Budapest in a row it just didn’t stand a chance.
